The Final DOL Conflict of Interest Rule:  What it Means for Qualified Retirement Plans

Thursday, February 9, 2017

The Milwaukee chapter invites you to our next program, “The Final DOL Conflict of Interest Rule:  What it Means for Qualified Retirement Plans”, on Thursday, February 9, 2017, at the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans office, Brookfield, Wisconsin, and via webinar.

The session will cover the final DOL rule as published in 2016, how it differs from previous proposed rules, who falls within the new definition of “fiduciary” and when it applies.  We will also cover the status of litigation-based challenges to date, as well as the future of the rule under the Trump administration.  While the rule is targeted primarily toward IRAs, we will focus on the impact to qualified retirement plans.  We will also cover how the rule changes the definition of “education” and the impact it will have on participant communications.
